The ‘Robot of the Year’ Award 2007 goes to an agile two armed industrial robot system which is equipped with visual tracking functions, optimised for work on the fod and pharmaceutical lines. The award was announced by Japan’s Minstry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Incredible animatronic dinosaur robots created by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Japan. Its amazing as they can even walk around and mimic the movements of prehistoric dinosaurs.

Plen, the Japanese robot that could skate and even do it with one leg is showcased here at the CES 2007. You can control the little guy via your cell phone using Bluetooth and he can even get up on its own. It will cost a hefty $2000 to own this guy which is all nice for showing off to your friends.

A number of amazing robots are featured which includes the Quadruped Walking Vehicle (It walks and even skates!), Amphibian Snake Robot(used for aiding earthquake victims) and Disaster Relief Robot (moves on any kind of surface). The preliminary tasks of these are mainly on rescue missions where accessibility is hard.
